looking at a 26'

Post by Ksmith1 » Fri May 19, 2017 7:39 am

i am going to look at a 26' bateau on boattrader. the boat looks good from the pictures on line. The boat is being sold by a dealer not the builder. So i am curious as to why someone would build a boat and then sell it. What should i look for? Keep in mind i have no experience in boat building.

Alot of folks build a boat TO sell it. Or it could be a person that likes having a hobby, but can't afford it so one boat finances the next boat. I'd day there are various reasons to build & sell.

Either way...on a homebuilt boat, or any boat for that matter, have it surveyed.

It looks nice in the pictures.

That's good advice.
I would want to see receipts for the material to know what plywood, and type of epoxy were used.
