FS12 assembly

Post by timc » Wed Sep 20, 2006 10:31 am

I'm assembling the hull and cannot get the bottom panel to lie flat on the stringer all the way from the mid seat back to the transom. The problem is that the butt block on the bottom panel pushes onto the bottom of the stringer and so forces the stringer away from the bottom.

I think that the solution is to cut a 1/4" notch into the stringer in the part of the stringer between the middle seat fromes. What do you think?

Yes, that's what I had in mind. I thought we explained that in the buidling notes but I don't see it. Sorry, I added a note saying to cut a 1/4" notch in the stringers between the mid seat frames.
It is easy to see where to cut it down: just at the butt block.

Agreed

The FS line is very interesting. The lines are very nice. Might need one to replace my GV13!

OK timc, it's the weekend.

You have until Sunday evening to post some pictures of your FS build.

There will be dire consequences if you fail to fulfill this task. :x

I will resort to hypnosis, if need be.

Nice try but it won't work!!!

I've been in the US on vacation from a project in Germany and didn't bring the camera with me. The FS12 is now put to bed until I'm back here in February when it will probably be too cold in RI to do any epoxy work.
